Ben Affleck’s pout at the 65th Grammy Awards last February did not go unnoticed. The actor, who accompanied his wife Jennifer Lopez, spoke about his lack of enthusiasm which caused a lot of talk.
On February 5, while he was with his partner, singer Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck appeared sad and a little sulky during the 65th Grammy Awards ceremony which was held in Los Angeles. A behavior which did not fail to provoke a reaction from his wife, giving rise to a lively exchange between the two stars, which was filmed and quickly went viral.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter published Thursday March 16, the actor and director returned to this episode which created the buzz. He finally revealed what the couple had said to each other during that evening. “I had a great time at the Grammys. My wife was going and I thought there would be good music. At film award shows there are speeches and webinars on sound mixing. I thought it might be fun,” he began by explaining.
“I OFTEN WENT TO AWARD SHOWS DRUNK”
Asked about his sullen appearance, Ben Affleck added: “I saw Trevor Noah (the presenter of the ceremony, editor’s note) approach and I said to myself: ‘Oh, my God’. They were framing us in this shot, but I didn’t know they were filming. I leaned over to (Jennifer) and said, ‘As soon as they start filming, I’m going to walk away from you and leave you next to Trevor.’ She said, ‘You better not leave.’ It’s a husband and wife thing.”
While his film “Air” , which he directs and in which he stars, will be released on April 5 on Amazon Prime Video, Ben Affleck also admitted during this interview that he had already gone to award shows in an advanced state of intoxication. “But no one ever said I was drunk,” he said.
