David Corenswet made his first appearance in the famous Superman costume, on the set of the highly anticipated new film in the franchise.
Fans will still have to be patient. David Corenswet, famous for his role as River Barkley in the television series “The Politician”, appeared for the first time this Monday, June 24 in the famous Superman costume, on the set of the next part of the saga , scheduled for 2025.
The 30-year-old actor, whose role was announced earlier this year, showed off his muscular frame and sculpted arms as he donned the blue and red costume, complete with cape, to unveil the superhero’s new symbol in Cleveland, USA. His hair was neatly styled and appeared to have been dyed raven black.
In May, a first image of the actor – who has never played a leading role in a major studio production – in the role of Superman was revealed in the blue suit, putting on his red boots.
David Corenswet will play Clark Kent in the new film series, alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, replacing Amy Adams.
HENRY CAVILL OUSTED FROM FRANCHISE
Henry Cavill , widely tipped to reprise the role of the Man of Steel after appearing in a “Black Adam” credits teaser in October, announced that DC co-presidents Peter Safran and director James Gunn will not had no intention of bringing him back in future games.
“I just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and it’s sad news for everyone. After all, I will not be reprising the role of Superman (..) I wish them, and everyone involved in this new universe, the best of luck and the happiest of fortunes,” he said.
David Corenswet played the role of Jake alongside Lili Reinhart in “Une Vie ou l’Autre”, a Netflix film released in 2022. He also starred in “Hollywood”, “The Politician” and “Pearl”.
“Superman,” which tells the story of the superhero juggling his Kryptonian heritage and his human upbringing, will be released on July 11, 2025.
