Brian Austin Green recently shared his thoughts on how his marriage to Megan Fox was influenced by physical attraction during a discussion about their 15-year relationship.

"My ex and I were together for almost 15 years," the former star of "Beverly Hills, 90210" revealed on Sunday’s episode of the "I Do, Part 2" podcast.

"We were married for almost 10 years and I led with physical attraction," he explained to hosts TJ Holmes and Amy Robach.

The 52-year-old actor went on to describe how he was drawn to being physically attracted to somebody and then sort of build a relationship around that.

Green and Fox, who is now 40, tied the knot in 2010 but ended their marriage in May 2020 after having three children: Noah, 13, Bodhi, 12, and Journey, 9.

"I was divorced, which I didn’t expect," he continued. "I had three kids. I was a single parent."

Looking ahead, Green realized he didn’t want to repeat his past mistakes. He decided to seek therapy to better understand the toxic patterns he brought into relationships.

Through therapy, the Knots Landing actor learned that he needed to be friends with someone first before pursuing a romantic relationship.

"I think when you start from a place of a genuine connection with someone, then you’re not as worried about whether they are truly into you or not," he noted, emphasizing that this approach encourages open communication.

Green adopted this new mindset before meeting his current fiancée, Sharna Burgess, 41, in December 2020.

"Sharna and I talked about our best qualities and our worst qualities together," he shared. "We sort of put it all out on the table."

"Your approach to a relationship is the best way to know if it’s just a purely physical connection," he added.

"That’s only going to last for so long, and you’ll reach a point where you think, ‘I can’t stand that other person. So they’re not hot to me anymore.’"

Green and the Dancing with the Stars alum welcomed their son, Zane, in June 2022, and got engaged the following year.

Despite their separation, Green and Fox have maintained a friendly relationship over the years.

After parting ways with Green, the Transformers actress revealed she was dating her now ex-fiancé, Machine Gun Kelly, in June 2020. The couple separated in December 2024 after announcing they would be having their first child together.

Fox gave birth in March 2025 and has been co-parenting their daughter, Saga, effectively, as they have been seen together on various outings.
